Mozilla are the makers of Firefox browser, the 2nd most popular browser in the world after Google. Our business with Mozilla began in May 2019 and is currently ongoing. They had decided to penetrate the African market, so they needed a communications agency to help them pursue that agenda. They wanted to increase the awareness of their brand on the continent, as well as make Firefox browser more popular among internet users in African countries.
To achieve this extensive task, we first had to do a SWOT analysis of the brand in order to develop thorough communication and visibility plan to guide our activities. We produced content in the form of Opinion Editorials, blogs and videos which we pushed through our vast media links on the continent. In only 6 months, we managed 60 features on both local (Standard Media, Daily Nation, Business Daily etc), international (Rwanda TV, Citi TV Ghana, Botswana Guardian, NewsDay Zimbabwe etc) and continental media platforms such as CGTN, CNBC Africa and Africa News. Between June 2019 and January 2020, we managed to penetrate the main tech hubs in Africa – South Africa through South Africa and Zimbabwe, West Africa through Nigeria and Ghana, and East Africa through Kenya and Rwanda.
